Invasive species fact sheets

Project Description

To raise awareness of the problem of invasive non-native plant species and the need for their control so that the public have a better understanding of some eradication action that they see.

This project produced four fact sheets will be produced, with colour illustrations, one for each of the species: Japanese knotweed, Giant hogweed, Himalayan or Indian balsam and the widespread, Rhododendron. These iincluded where to report the occurrence of these species and where to find further information.



Aug 09: 4 leaflets produced & circulated widely by newly formed Highland Invasive Species Group to raise awareness of principal non-native invasive species in Highland (general leaflet, Rhododendron ponticum, Japanese knotweed, American mink).  Project complete.
